The KATflow 200 hand-held ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter has been designed to fulfil the specific customer requirement for an easy to use, lightweight and compact flowmeter for simple flow measurement applications.

General information

As the KATflow 200 weighs less than 700 g, it is a very light and compact hand-held clamp-on flowmeter. As a result, it can easily be carried into locations which are difficultly to reach. Due to its IP 65 housing with rubber shock protection, the flowmeter is also very robust.

The KATflow 200 features several product innovations including a graphical display providing the user with more information on the meter and a diagnostic screen with digital oscilloscope function. As a special feature, the KATflow 200 also shows a real-time graph of the flow data.

Furthermore, by equipping every KATflow ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeter with the Audible Sensor Positioning Assistant - a new intelligent sensor location function - Katronic have made correct sensor positioning easier than ever before.

Datalogger and serial interface

The KATflow 200 can be equipped with an internal data logger, which is available in two sizes to store up to 30,000 or 100,000 samples. When ordered with a datalogger, the flowmeter is also supplied with the KATdata+ software.

It enables the user to download and visualise the flow data on a computer either after the measurement or in real-time using the embedded terminal function. The data can be transferred via the instrument’s RS 232 interface or an optional USB converter.

Transport case options

The versatile KATflow 200 has two transport case options available. Depending on whether the user requires high portability or robustness, the hand-held flowmeter can be ordered with a soft or crush proof case. Furthermore, the KATflow 200 can be equipped with a wall thickness measurement probe.

Ultrasonic sensors and wall thickness probe

The ultrasonic clamp-on sensors and wall thickness probes supplied with the KATflow 200 are manufactured with a stainless steel head and sturdy cable conduit ensuring extreme robustness and are fully auto detected and interchangeable between all portable instruments with no loss of performance.

The ultrasonic sensors cover a pipe diameter range from 10 mm to 3,000 mm with special options available for non-standard applications.

Measurement technology

All KATflow ultrasonic clamp-on flowmeters apply ultrasonic transit-time measurement technology. This enables the instruments to provide highly accurate and reliable flow measurement data for almost any kind of liquid regardless of its electric conductivity.
